Mary, yes that is a fitting name; a name for her softly kindled soul. Her daughter lived with her deep in the wilderness, secluded and isolated, the recent decline in population hardly had an affect on their days spent in each other's company. In fact, her daughter—Little Red (that is her name as far as we know)—had never even encountered any others besides her mother. They lived at the heart of the Anthill Forest range, miles away from any remaining communities. The forest was dense and difficult to traverse through; Mary took this into account and constructed their modest hut in a clearing nearby a river.
